Swim Team Newsletter
Thank you to those who stepped up at the last minute to help out at last week’s meet.
Please sign up for volunteer positions by Tuesday for this week’s meet. If you do not sign up, I will place you in a spot if your child is swimming. If you cannot volunteer for any reason, please contact me or send me an email, I will think of a job for you to help the team in another way. Several families worked more than their required session last week. When you sign your children up for swim team you sign yourself up to volunteer. In order to run a smooth meet every family MUST help out. We have about 60 families on the team but 80 volunteer positions. Use the link to sign up. You can sign up for all meets at one time if you like.
Starting Thursday, you will need to check in with Matt Elliott. He has graciously accepted the volunteer position of volunteer coordinator. He will be under the canopy with the stop watches. If you are timing, please pick up 2 stop watches from him. If you haven’t signed up by Wednesday morning he will be recruiting you.
Missing a Meet
If you will not be at a meet, sign the Miss-A-Meet document so you are not entered in the meet.
This week’s swim meet against Thousand Oaks is at home. Be at the pool at 4:30 ready to get in for warm ups.
We will have individual and team pictures taken this Friday 6/16/17. We will begin pictures at 9:00 am for individuals. Team picture at 9:30. If you need a picture form please pick one up at practice and bring Friday, otherwise they will be available that day.
We will have one last spirit wear order. If you need anything including tennis shirts please order now. I cannot order personalized swim caps at this point. If you want anything ordered this is your last chance. Please pick up order forms in the snack bar. They are due Tuesday at noon. I will also be putting in anything we haven’t received.
As many of you know this is my 7th year running the swim team. I am ready to step out of this role and do something else for the club. I am looking for volunteers to train this season for next year’s swim team. If you are interested please see me. It is much easier if we have several people running different aspects of the team, rather than one running the whole thing. With our 13 and over age group being the largest we need to train some of the younger athletes’ parents in the following position to keep the team running. I am looking for:
2018 Volunteer Coordinator
2018 Spirit Wear Coordinator
2018 Meet Director
2018 Stroke and Turn judges
